As a community-based nonprofit and charity,  the BC Marine Trails is sustained by the generous individuals, families, and individuals, who go above and beyond in their commitment as donors. 

Donations  enable us to do critical BC coastal work in First Nations engagement, stewardship, conservation, and trails development. BC Marine Trails is the only organization advocating for public access to recreation on the BC coast — we are steadfast in our commitment to this endeavour.

Our community work is also heavily supported through in-kind volunteer hours. For example, our recent Gerald Island invasive species cleanup netted 670 hours in four days from 24 volunteers in April 2024. We rely on a community of people who give to the association. 

Meet our 2024 & 2025 Donors

Donations are an important part of our organization’s success. Memberships cover approximately 25% of our costs. Donation amounts vary year to year but cover up to 20% of our costs. Most paddlers/people give to help support the BC Marine Trails and its overall community efforts to create public access to BC coastal recreation. Our surveys also show that members and the public strongly support our three-pillar program of First Nations engagement, stewardship and conservation and trails development.

In 2024 our main campaign to support the BC Marine Trails has been a SpencerCreo matching campaign (April 1st to May 8th).

Donation names below are updated monthly.

We also have another category of donors called Trailblazers and Legacy Trailblazers. This group of people are consider leaders for the BC Marine Trails. Read more about Trailblazers.
