ONLINE — Coastal Caretaker information session

May 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Coastal Caretakers are dedicated to safeguarding the coastline — giving VOICE to the sites they visit. Making your next paddling adventure impactful is simpler than you think! Keen to find out how?
Join our online Coastal Caretakers information session, May 16th at 7:00 pm. RSVP to receive your Zoom invitation!

Did you know that the BC Marine Trails site map is powered by contributions from users like you? Through Site Condition Reports (SCRs), you help keep our information current (no pun intended), ensuring safety and sustainability for every visitor. Last year, we launched the Coastal Caretaker program, simplifying your involvement in preserving British Columbia’s stunning coastline. As a Coastal Caretaker — whether as an individual or a business — you play a crucial role in maintaining and safeguarding our marine trails. By visiting sites, performing minor maintenance and cleanups, and reporting what they see back to BCMT, Caretakers are able to make a significant impact, with no minimum time commitment — every little bit helps.

Ready to make a difference? Join the community of over 65 Coastal Caretakers and start helping to protect the coast.

Become a Coastal Caretaker and give a VOICE to the sites you cherish:

VISITING: Explore your favourite spots, or discover new ones across our 25,000 kilometers of coastline.

OBSERVING: Take notes of any human impact on the site and appreciate its natural beauty.

INTERACTING: Share your efforts with fellow visitors, promoting respectful recreation.

CARETAKING: Take action! Dismantle fire rings, clean up debris, and maintain trails.

EXCHANGING DATA: Your input matters! Complete the BCMT Site Condition Report to help preserve our coastline. Site Condition Reports are welcome from everyone — not just coastal caretakers — find out how to report.

Special Incentive: Each submitted SCR by the end of September is an entry to win one of three fantastic prizes from Mustang Survival!
