BC Marine Trails: Preserving BC coastal access for small craft users.

LNT Training Workshop

Do you consider your group’s environmental impact when planning a paddling trip? How to reduce it? How well do you know and practise Leave No Trace principles in the wilderness?

This morning workshop is a ‘no charge’ introduction to Leave no Trace principles as they apply in the BC Marine Trails environment. It is geared towards paddlers who love and respect our BC wilderness and want to help to preserve it.

When: 10.30am – 1pm, March 24, 2017
Where: Beban Park Activity Centre, 2300 Bowen Rd. Nanaimo BC

The BCMTNA is offering a ‘Leave No Trace’ Awareness Workshop, facilitated by Georgia Greetham, LNT Master Trainer, and Stephanie Meinke, LNT Trainer.

This Leave No Trace Workshop is sponsored by the BCMTNA stewardship committee. The ‘Leave No Trace Principles’ https://www.leavenotrace.ca/ are the basic ethics guidelines that the BCMTNA follows in all its stewardship programs and endeavours.

Help the BC Marine Trails ‘Care for the marine trails we use’.
Step 1: participate in this workshop,
Step 2: consider joining the ranks of the BCMTN Stewardship volunteers. Our growing Stewardship Program needs volunteers to help with:

  • Site Condition Reporting
  • BC Marine Trails Site Cleanups (small, one-day cleanups to large group cleanup expeditions lasting up to 10 days)
  • Assisting with Leave no Trace promotion and education, directed at trail users
  • Assist or commit to our developing ‘adopt a site’ program and other similar stewardship programs
  • Upcoming Site upgrade projects

Space is limited to 30.  Please sign up to get your spot!
