Members of the BC Marine Trails are eligible for valuable discounts just by showing your membership card. Here's a list. Don't have a membership card? It's on the bottom of your membership invoice. You can access the invoice through the 'My Account' information where you log into 'Member Central' on our website. Can you afford not to be a member? Rentals? Gear? Trips? If this is not enough you get amazing access to a map of campsites, ruler tools, newsletters and more. Please note this page only updated twice a year. Benefits can change so it's best to check with the company to see if they honour them.


Seabear Charters

Your BC Marine Trails Discount: Seabear Charters delivers your kayak/canoe by water taxi to the Broken Group Islands. The Port Alberni fee is $200 ($10 dollars off for BCMT members) or in one direction ($100.00). Ask Captain Seabear himself. Minimum six people per trip. Contact for more details.

 SEABEAR CHARTERS is a water taxi and fishing charter business that has unique access to the Broken Group Islands. We offer water taxi service between Port Alberni, Bamfield, Ucluelet, Toquart, and the Broken Groupo Islands in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.

Especially geared for kayakers, this 15 hour course, taught over 5 weeks, will enable you to assess weather conditions, understand a marine radio broadcast, read your chart, calculate tides and currents, use a compass, take a bearing, and plan a paddling trip.

It is an in-depth and great foundation course for those wanting to learn more and take their skills to a whole new level. This course brings the paddling world into focus and all the many decisions you need to make to ensure you stay safe and see new places. As well, your confidence level in your abilities begin to grow and you can plan an exciting trip on your own or join others with your new-found knowledge.
