Correct coordinates for this site are 51.928774, -128.440366; it is located at the northern tip of Gosling Island.
Hi Jason – thanks for your info, the coordinates that you reference are for Gosling Island North site now visible on the map.
This site was Kayak Bill’s last camp. He died here in the Goose Groupon December 8, 2003. His body was found nearby. In 2007 the windscreen was still standing and in decent shape. Most of his signature accoutrements still adorned the camp. By 2012 it was mostly a pile of trash. That 3rd photos looks like it could be the beach at the north end of the island. Out of curiousity why isn’t Snipe Island listed on the Member Map?
Hi Jon – thanks for the detail on Kayak Bill. Snipe Island was removed as per the request of the Heiltsuk nation.
