It's a casual paddle through the Penn Islands and along the east coast of Read Island. Look for whales. They can be heard often camping on Penn Islands north. - [Vargas Circumnavigation](https://www.bcmarinetrails.org/route/vargas-circumnavigation/) - Leaving from Tofino, our group meandered through the harbour's islands, crossing to Meares Island, and then heading up Elbow Bank, on Vargas' east side. Stopping for lunch at McIntosh, we continued on to Dick and Jane's for the night. The next day, we launched from Dick & Jane's, hugging shore around Mel's Beach, passing through - [Blue Heron Park Return](https://www.bcmarinetrails.org/route/blue-heron-park-return/) - It's a simple route. Launching from Blue Heron head south along the shoreline for approximately 1NM or just before Roberts Memorial Park. On roughly an 40 degree bearing cross to DeCourcy Island and Ruxton Island to Pirates Cove. Stop for lunch. After lunch or camp, head roughly south to Whalebone Island Marine Park. It's an early start, but there is great food on the boat. Day 1 — Okeover Inlet to West Curme Island (~17 km) After flying into Powell River and shuttling to the Okeover - [Clayoquot Sound Loop](https://www.bcmarinetrails.org/route/clayoquot-sound-loop/) - Launch from Tofino government wharf. If weather permits clockwise route, paddle around west coast of Vargas Island and camp at Ahous Bay.
