Introduction

One of the main missions of the BC Marine Trails Network Association is to continue to ground proof and assess new sites along the BC coastline in order to establish the BC Marine Trails Network. By getting the support of members and volunteers, who are exploring and paddling the BC coastline, we are able to gather more reliable information on sites.

How You Can Help with New Sites

If you, your group or your paddling club is planning a trip in 2018 or 2019 you might consider assessing new sites for the BC Marine Trails with our site assessment form (this is NOT A SITE CONDITION REPORT though some collected information may overlap). If you wish to fill out a lighter report on the condition of a site please visit this page.

  1. Send an e-mail to our data coordinator (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), and indicate which area your group might explore. Or contact one of the directors (contact page) and ask for some help.
  2. We will send you a list of sites needing Trails Development Evaluation (aka Site Assessment).
  3. Examine the site assessment form (below) and take one or more copies with yout to fill out (or make notes with one copy to fill out when returning home.

There are two methods to using the Trails Development Evaluation form online form or a pdf document:

  1. We have an online form sends a site assessment automatically to our data coordinator. This is the easiest method. Remember to send photos separately by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please clearly identify the photo.
  2. Please print this form 'pdfTrails Development Evaluation' to use in the field. This form can also be opened in a pdf reader and filled in. Then save it, and attach it to an e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), which is sent to our data coordinator. Remember to send photos separately and clearly identified (name, place) to the e-mail above.
