About Blue Heron Park

This is an unofficial BC Marine Trails launch site. Blue Heron Park is located on Yellow Point Road in the north end of the Cowichan Valley Regional District. It is on Westby Road, which is named after Arnold Westby, a local person who spent a lot of time raising salmon for local streams. The park gives quick access to the Gulf Islands Marine Trail. It's a reasonable paddle to Pirates Cove Provincial Park. Overnight parking is available here. Items should be locked up or out of sight.

Blue Heron Park gives you great access to a day paddle north or south along the east coast of Vancouver Island or is an excellent location for a multi-day paddle into the Gulf Islands Marine Trail or into the Salish Sea Marine Trail.
