The BC Marine Trails Network Association has its own classification system for the BC coastline. We have divided the coast into six regions:
Each region is then divided into paddling areas. Generally, the boundaries between paddling areas are distinguished by changes in water classification (Class I, II, III, IV) with Class I being the lowest risk areas. Members have access to a downloads page where they can load one or more paddling areas onto their GPS unit or create a kml file for Google Earth.
