This event is jointly hosted by South Island Sea Kayak Association and will begin with a SISKA business meeting and then the presentation. Thanks to funding from the Trans Canada Trail, BCMT will be presenting this webinar by our First Nations Liaison Liam Ragan. On top of his work with Indigenous communities, Liam coordinates the Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas program in B.C., and is an experienced birder and ornithologist. The talk on February 23rd at 7 PM will look at marine birds in B.C., the conservation threats they face, and how paddlers can ensure they minimize their disturbance of birds as they breed, migrate and overwinter in this ecologically critical stretch of coast.
